Tarrytown Center Holds Turkey Feast for Children of Low-Income Families.
Tarrytown, NY (December 5, 2008) – The Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester's Tarrytown Center celebrated the spirit of Thanksgiving with a complimentary Turkey Feast. The dinner, held annually the day before Thanksgiving, was open to all members and their families. Volunteers cooked and served the food, which included hundreds of homemade desserts baked by the Tarrytown Advisory Board. In addition to the Turkey Feast, Club members also received a turkey, complete with all of the trimmings, to take home and enjoy. Approximately 120 turkeys were given away in all, one to each family.
The Center, which opened in 2002 at the Community Opportunity Center, serves approximately 800 children from low-income families. It provides a safe place to go after school, a warm meal, guiding hands, and a positive experience for its members.
The Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester's Tarrytown Center is located at 105 Wildey Street, Tarrytown, NY. They can be reached at 914.586.0036 or by visiting www.bgcnw.com.
