Ritz-Carlton Donates Time and Talents at Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Westchester
Mount Kisco, NY (September 25, 2007) – Twenty-five Ritz-Carlton employees and ten customers recently took a day away from the office to volunteer at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Westchester. Volunteers planted roses donated by Rosedale Nursery in Hawthorne, added a fresh coat of paint to the Club's Teen Center, and painted outside benches as part of The Ritz-Carlton's social responsibility program, Community Footprints.
"The reason we selected the Boys & Girls Clubs is that it provides children with access to positive role models and a future full of opportunities for growth and development into the leaders of tomorrow," said Kelly Wood, Senior Director of International Sales Offices in New York and Chicago for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company.
"We greatly appreciate The Ritz-Carlton's generous contribution to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Westchester," said the Club's Executive Director, Brian Skanes."The repainting of the Teen Center and outside benches, as well as the new rose bushes planted along our perimeter, are wonderful aesthetic improvements that will be enjoyed by all of our members."
The Community Footprints program places great emphasis on the education and development of disadvantaged children and youth. Since its inception in 1983, The Ritz-Carlton Community Footprints program has partnered with local children's organizations that provide a nurturing environment to offer various development activities. In 2006, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company donated $5.25 million in products and services, and over 100,000 hours of volunteer work, to benefit disadvantaged youth, hunger and poverty relief, and environmental conservation.
