Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester Members Learn the Art of Poetry with Local Poet
Mt. Kisco, NY (October 15, 2009) – Local poet Vernon Ford recently paid a visit to children at the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester where he recited animal poetry from his latest book to the Club's fourth and fifth grade members. Ford will return to the Club in costume on October 27 to read Halloween poetry to the sixth, seventh, and eighth graders.
A longtime Westchester resident, Ford lived in Katonah for 16 years. He has since moved to Bedford Corners with his wife, Gigi, and their dog, Lily. He is an interpreter of 18th and 19th century history at Van Cortlandt Manor in Croton-on-Hudson. An artist by trade, Ford has worked as a brand identification consultant for over 35 years and studied graphic design at the Pratt Institute. He is also a real estate salesperson at Siderow Kennedy in Chappaqua.
