No Fumbles Here: Boys & Girls Club's Super Bowl Phone-A-Thon Scores Big —
$32,000 raised for the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester's scholarship program
Mount Kisco, NY (February 6, 2009) – Board members, staff, and community volunteers engaged a different type of receiver at the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester's Super Bowl Phone-A-Thon. The 14th annual Phone-a-thon raised $32,000 for the Club's scholarship program.
Club Board Vice President and Phone-a-thon Chair, Tom O'Brien, spurred the volunteers and Club members as they worked side-by-side for an intensive three hours calling past donors, friends, and members' families.
"It's heartwarming to see that even in these tough economic times, we can still turn to our community for support. A former Club member myself, I am proud of the Phone-a-thon's continued success. It's also great to see so many children involved in this year's efforts," said Mr. O'Brien.
Curtis Instruments of Mount Kisco hosted the event in their office space for the fifth consecutive year. Chairman Stuart Marwell, Club board member and alumnus, said he is happy to lend his space to such a worthy cause.
Brian Skanes, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester, said the event's success can be attributed to the Club's many volunteers and supporters. "We want to express our sincere thanks to Tom O'Brien, Stuart Marwell, and everyone who contributed to the success of this event," he said.
