Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester Receives a $2,500 Grant from the Pepsi Bottling Group Foundation
Mount Kisco, NY (July 7, 2009) – The Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester recently received a $2,500 grant from the Pepsi Bottling Group Foundation (PBG). The donation will be used to support the Club's programming and its mission to enable all young people, especially those who need it most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.
From the beginning, the PBG Foundation has focused its support on the causes and organizations that matter most to its employees, particularly in the communities where they live and work. Club members recently welcomed PBG representatives for a visit to their facility in Mt. Kisco.
As part of PBG's 10 year anniversary in 2009, an art contest was held for children of employees. With more than 900 entries worldwide, the response was overwhelming and including artwork from Russia, Mexico, Turkey, and Greece. The children of PBG's Somers, NY based employees, however, were among the four locations that sent in the most entries. In recognition of their enthusiasm, the PBG Foundation made donations to four local Boys and Girls Club affiliates, including the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester.
"We are fortunate to have such gracious supporters to help fund our programs," said Brian Skanes, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester. "Generous contributions from organizations like the Pepsi Bottling Group Foundation allow us to continue offering quality programs to the 2,500 youth we serve."
Last year, PBG donated over $23 million in product and corporate contributions to a wide variety of nonprofit organizations. Their primary areas of focus are cultural diversity, education, disaster relief, and environmental sustainability.

About the Pepsi Bottling Group Foundation
Incorporated in November 1999, the Pepsi Bottling Group Foundation reflected an emerging PBG culture based on a relentless drive to succeed, a strong sense of community responsibility, and personal accountability. Through the Foundation's Matching Gifts program as well as an annual United Way campaign, thousands of PBG employees found it easy to make a difference. As PBG employees became increasingly involved in their communities, in 2002, the Foundation introduced PBG WINs -- We Are Involved Neighbors, a program to reward PBG employees who contribute their time and financial resources to nonprofit organizations. Three grant programs were created: Individual Volunteer Grants, Team Fundraising Grants and Team Volunteer Project Grants. In addition to its employee-driven initiatives, the PBG Foundation also makes financial and product donations directly to nonprofit organizations.
