Boys and Girls Clubs of Northern Westchester Welcomes Three New Board Members.

   
 

Brian A. Gerety, Kim Kelly, and Gary Silverstein

Mount Kisco, New York (July 27, 2005) — Kim Kelly, Gary Silverstein, and Brian A. Gerety have been selected to join the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester. The appointments were announced by Brian Skanes, Executive Director, Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester.

Kelly, of Bedford, is an independent business consultant and also owns her own home renovation company. Previous to her current endeavors, Kelly was a partner at Andersen Consulting. She has been actively involved with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Westchester since 1999 when Board Member Muffin Ziminsky introduced her to the Club. During this time, she served as a subcommittee chair of the Clubs' Humanitarian Dinner Committee. She has also served on the boards of the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering and Garth Fagan Dance. A Chicago native, Kelly graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Philosophy degree in communications.

Silverstein, of Katonah, is the co-founder and executive director of The Therapy Center, a comprehensive mental/behavioral health practice with offices in Mt. Kisco and Brewster. Prior to the founding of The Therapy Center, Silverstein worked for 10 years holding various positions in psychology and social work, including the Lifeline Center for Child Development, Four Winds Hospital, The Center for Therapeutic Arts, and his own private psychotherapy practice in Bedford Hills. Silverstein has professional affiliations with the National Association of Social Workers, the American Ortho Psychiatric Association, and Who's Who in Psychotherapy. He received his BS from Ithaca College, with a major in psychology and a minor in social work and received his Masters in social work from Tulane University's School of Social Work.

Gerety, of Stormville, New York, is the clinical director and co-founder of the Therapy Center, where he directs a staff of professionals in the provision of outpatient psychotherapy services. Gerety has teaching experience at the Columbia University School of Social Work, the Bedford and Mt. Kisco Substance Abuse Prevention Councils, and at the Long Island University Counseling Psychology Program. He is also a member of the National Association of Social Workers. Gerety received his BS in psychology from Fordham University and his Masters in social work from Columbia University.
