Muffin Ziminsky to be honored as Club's "Humanitarian of the Year.
Mt. Kisco, NY (March 21, 2005) — Muffin Ziminsky of Pound Ridge, NY has been selected as the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester's "Humanitarian of the Year." Ziminsky will be recognized for her many years of outstanding service at the 11th annual Humanitarian Award Dinner, the Club's largest fundraising event. Sponsored by Ginnel Real Estate, Bedford, NY, the event will be held on Friday, June 3, 2005, at Westair hangar Westchester County Airport. The Humanitarian Award is the highest honor given by the Club to its supporters.
Ziminsky has served on the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester for the past 11 years, serving as Secretary since 1996. Ziminsky grew up as one of 11 children in Mount Kisco. She and her brothers and sisters were all members of the Club. A Sales Broker for Ginnel Real Estate in Bedford, NY, Ziminsky has consistently been the top producer at Ginnel as well as the top producer in Northern Westchester. In recognition of her outstanding performance, she has received "The Diamond Award of Excellence," the highest honor bestowed by the Westchester County Board of Realtors, for the past 12 years.
Ziminsky said she is happy to devote her energy to such a worthy organization. "It is all about the children," she said. "Our children need a safe place to learn, and to be nurtured. The Boys & Girls Club is that place!"
Ziminsky is also an avid equestrian, having ridden through Northern Westchester her whole life. She has even been known to show properties via horseback. One of her favorite pastimes is trail riding with her 14-year-old-son, George.
"Muffin Ziminsky has been invaluable to the Boys & Girls Club since she joined the Board," said Brian Skanes, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester. "She has inspired countless individuals, throughout Westchester County and beyond, to support the organization. Because of Muffin's efforts, scores of children have had a place to be nurtured, learn and grow."
