Boys and Girls Club of Northern Westchester Welcomes Laureen Barber To Its Board.
Mount Kisco, New York (November 10, 2005) — Laureen Barber has been selected to join the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester. Her appointment was announced by Brian Skanes, Executive Director, Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester.
Barber is an owner of Blue Hill Restaurants, with locations in NYC and Tarrytown, and serves as Design Director for the Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture in Tarrytown, NY. As such, she is responsible for all aspects related to design and marketing for Stone Barns and Blue Hill.
Barber studied graphic design at Parsons School of Design in New York, NY and has a bachelor's degree in English from East Carolina University, Greenville, NC.
With a background in marketing and graphic design, Barber has worked with Fortune 500 companies and start-up firms for over 15 years helping to build and define their identities. As the Director of Business Development for AGA, a graphic design firm, Barber worked on accounts such as Anheuser-Busch, Blockbuster Entertainment, and Sunglass Hut International.
Barber said she sees great value in being an active participant in her community. In addition to her work with the Club, she volunteers for the Northern Westchester Hospital and the Westchester Land Trust. She is also a board member of Northern Westchester Parent Child Group.
"Ms. Barber worked tirelessly as one of the co-chairs for this year's tremendously successful Humanitarian Award Dinner," Skanes said. "She will be an invaluable member of the Board and we are delighted to welcome her."
Barber resides in Pound Ridge with her husband, David, and their two children.
