Newsroom ArchivesThe Club's 11th Annual Golf Tournament Tees Off On September 20thMount Kisco, New York, August 29, 2005 — The Boys and Girls Clubs of Northern Westchester will hold its eleventh annual Golf Tournament on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at GlenArbor Golf Club, Bedford, NY. Proceeds generated from the tournament go directly towards the Clubs' programs and annual scholarships. Last year, 100 golfers participated in the tournament, which raised $50,000. The golf tournament commences at 9:30 a.m. with registration and brunch. A shotgun start follows at 11:00 a.m. Cocktails and a buffet dinner will be served following the tournament. There will be an awards presentation during dinner. The Tournament will feature a Hole-in-One contest sponsored by JetBlue along with a longest drive and closest to the pin contest. Brian Skanes, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Westchester said he is pleased with the tournaments' growth. "We are very grateful to our community for their continuing support," he said. "Participating in or sponsoring the tournament is a great way to contribute to a worthy cause while having fun." Board Members Marcela and Michael Berland will serve as the event sponsors. The Golf Tournament Committee is co-chaired by George Roach and Thomas R. Trotta and includes members: Marcela and Michael Berland, Lou Claytor, Bruce Cohen, John Crabtree, John New, Todd Rockefeller, Nick Scala, and Rick Talmadge. The Club is currently accepting sponsorships, foursomes, and advertising in the tournament's program booklet.
