Club Hours

Monday – Friday: 12:30 pm to 9:00 pm
Saturdays: The building is open on Saturdays from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm for lessons only — there will be no drop-in activities.

General Policies

Membership
Membership runs from July 1 through June 30 and is open to all children up to age 18.

  • Membership Fee: $50 per child; $5 fee for lost cards.
  • Click here for membership and registration forms.
  • Teen members may use volunteer hours to "pay" for their membership.
  • Pick up cards at the front desk.
  • All members MUST scan in at the front desk.

The purpose of both the Drop Off Zone in front of the Boys & Girls Club building and the Parking Regulations is to ensure the safety of ALL our children.

Please abide by the following:

  • All vehicles MUST stop at the Stop sign.
  • Do not stop or park in the crosswalk in front of the Club.
  • Do not park in the Drop Off Zone or by the curbs in the driveway.
  • Handicap permits must be visible in the windshield.
  • Do not leave your car running or your children in the car unattended while you enter the building.

Club "House" Rules

  • Treat others as you wish to be treated.
  • Remove head gear in the building.
  • Use appropriate language and physical contact.
  • No children under six years old are allowed in the Games Room.
  • We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Early Childhood Education Programs – September 7, 2010 to August 19, 2011
7:00 am and 8:00 am — Early Drop Off
9:00 am – 4:00 pm — Class
4:00 pm – 6:00 pm — Late Pick Up

  • Classes are taught by Early Childhood Educators. We incorporate the Early Childhood Creative Curriculum. The program also includes a learn to swim program, developmentally appropriate classroom activities, a physical education program, music, and nap time.
  • The Before-School Care program includes breakfast. All children receive a mid-morning snack. Children receive a hot lunch cooked on site in our kitchen.
  • After-School Care children receive a light snack.
  • Children must be 3-years or 4-years-old by December 1, 2010 and FULLY toilet trained.

The Boys & Girls Club Child Care Center is licensed by the State of New York Office of Children and Family Services.

Program Fees: 5 days per week/50 week program
9-4 pm $9,450/yr      7-9 am $2,625/yr
8-9 am $1,313/yr      4-6 pm $2,625/yr

After-School Fun Club
Grades K to 5: Monday-Friday from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
Activities include:

  • Arts & Crafts
  • Gym
  • Power Hour Homework Help
  • Digital Arts MAC Lab
  • Games
  • Reading
  • Hot afternoon meal
  • and more...

Includes:

  • 185 School Days
  • Superintendent Conference Days, certain school holidays
  • Half Days

Vacation Weeks, when available, are FREE of charge to Fun Club members.
The Fun Club is registered with the NY State Office of Children and Family Services.

Bedford Central School District will provide transportation to all of its elementary schools except Mt. Kisco Elementary School. The Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester will transport children to Mt. Kisco Elementary School from the Club.

Middle School Students – Grades 6-7
Monday – Friday: 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm (Grade 6 & 7)
Program located in Main Building.
Fee: $50 Membership per year

Middle school programs help develop self-esteem, teach young teens how to deal with peer pressure and encourage community service. Homework help, mentoring, gym programs, social recreation and cultural arts programs are also offered. Activities include:

  • Guidance Center — Individual Counseling, Tutoring, Mentoring
  • Torch Club — National Boys & Girls Clubs leadership program
  • Boys to Men and Smart Girls Programs — small groups that deal with age and gender-specific issues - meets weekly
  • Recognition Programs
  • Junior Staff - prepares members for the world of work
  • Money Matters - members learn money management skills

Monday – Friday: 2:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Program located in the Teen Center.
Fee: $50 Membership per year

High School programs are designed to help foster young people's character, personal growth and leadership skills, and to encourage community service. A teen advisory group, the Keystone Club, helps staff plan and design programs and events, and exchange ideas. Activities include:

  • Guidance Center — College Counseling, Scholarship Opportunities
  • Liberty Keystone Club Leadership Program - High School leadership and service group.  Meets Thursdays at 7:00 pm beginning 9/16/10.
  • Training, Volunteer and Community Service Opportunities
  • Junior Keystone Leadership Program
  • College Quest Program
  • Recognition Programs
  • Computer Lab
  • Friday Night Events — Rap Battles, Open Mic, Battle of the Bands
  • Club Service — Members and Alumni ages 17-24 earn money for college through internships at the Club.

Community Service/Volunteer Orientations

Youth ages 16-18 who are interested in volunteering at the Boys & Girls Club must attend an orientation session. Must commit to at least 2 days per week, 3 hours per day for 5 weeks.  Orientation sessions are held on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm on the following dates:

SESSION I: SEPTEMBER 13 - NOVEMBER 24
Mail In Registration ends September 3
Walk In Registration begins September 7 and is ongoing

SPORTS LEAGUES
SESSION I - September 13 to November 21

All participants must be members of the Boys & Girls Club.  Membership fee is $50 per year.  Walk In Registration will be held from Sept 7 to Sept 11.  Click here for membership and registration forms.  

Basketball Leagues
CODE: 6265  Fee: $60.00
The leagues are designed to be recreational, fun and instructional for girls and boys in grades 1-6.  Teams are made up of children of varying skills and abilities. 
Note: Registration for Basketball Leagues ends September 11

Volunter coaches are needed.
Coaches Meeting:
Thursday, September 23 at 6:30 pm
This meeting is mandatory for all who are interested in coaching.

TRYOUTS (Everyone makes a team)
Grades 4, 5 & 6: Monday, Sept 13, 20, 27: 5:30 pm (limit 60)
Grade 1: Tuesday, Sept 14, 21, 28: 5:30 pm (limit 40)
Grade 2: Tuesday, Sept 14, 21, 28: 6:30 pm (limit 40)
Grade 3: Thursday, Sept 16, 23, 30: 5:30 pm (limit 40)

Schedules and team shirts will be handed out the week of September 27.  Game times vary.

LEAGUE PLAY BEGINS:

Playoff Weeks: November 22 and November 29
Practice Week: December 6 (1/2 gym)

Kindergarten Basketball Instructional Program

Wednesdays at 5:30 pm - begins September 8, 2010
Skills, drills, and basics of the game are taught. Scrimmages are held during practice.  Children will receive shirts.

High School Soccer League
Wednesday and Friday, 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Free with Club Membership ($50 per year)

FALL & SPRING SPORTS AWARD NIGHT
Saturday, April 16 at 6:00 pm in the Boys & Girls Club gym

Swim Cap Rule: Swim caps required for children ages 3 and up if hair is below the ears.
Spectator Days: September 13-18 and November 11-24

FAMILY SWIM
Saturday from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm
Free for Club members and their Parent/Guardian.  Parent/Guardian must accompany Club member, wear bathing suit and be in the water.  Swim cap rule is in efffect.  No spectators allowed at this time.

YOUTH SWIM
Monday through Thursday from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Saturday from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm
Free to all Club members age 8 and up.  Must be in Level 3 or higher or stand 50 inches at chin.  Swim cap rule is in effect.

Drawing & Painting

  • Learn the basics in black, white and color media using pencils, charcoal, markers, pens, pastel and acrylic paint
