Get Involved — Volunteer
The success of the programs at the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester depend on positive partnerships between young people and concerned adults, and also between our Club and its supporters. With the ongoing support of concerned individuals and businesses in our community, we are able to provide quality programs, guidance and a "Positive Place for Kids."
Volunteers are welcome in the following areas:
- Social Programs
Mentors are needed for career guidance, college preparation, and to help practice job and college interview skills.
- Educational Program
Volunteers are needed for tutoring, homework help, and general assistance in classrooms.
- Kids Cafe
Volunteer instructors in the area of nutrition and health are needed.
- Arts Program
Volunteer instructors for art, photography, music, dance and drama are needed to help kick off our new, enhanced arts education program.
- Recreational Programs
Coaches, scorekeepers and referees are needed for basketball games.
Program volunteer requirements:
- Must be at least 14 years of age, in accordance with the Office of Children and Family Services regulations.
- Must be willing to commit to at least 1 day per week for 6 weeks.
- Must attend a Volunteer Orientation at the Boys & Girls Club. Sessions are held on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm. Please call the front desk for session dates - 914-666-8069. (RSVP for an orientation by e-mailing Barbara Cutri at bcutri@bgcnw.com)
- Complete a packet of paperwork as required by the Office of Children and Family Services, which includes a background check and other screenings.

The Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester welcomes volunteers to serve on Board committees such as Property Management, Marketing and Communications, Finance, and Program.
The Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester welcomes volunteers to help raise funds. We hold several special events each year including a Super Bowl Sunday Phone-a-thon, Youth of the Year Dinner, Humanitarian Award Dinner, and a Golf Tournament.
